Flexibly Delivering on Evolving High Standards of a New Hotel

Introduction

The beautiful Steigenberger Alsik Hotel & Spa is one of Denmark’s most inviting and exciting hotels. The hotel, which opened in 2019, is characterized by its tasteful Nordic design and use of natural materials. From the stylish and state-of-the-art 190 rooms and suites, there are views of both Sønderborg city and Alssund – one of the most beautiful fjord landscapes in Denmark. Alsik offers its guests a floor space totaling 4,500 square meters across four floors. It houses Northern Europe’s largest spa that offers over 60 different spa and wellness experiences in a spectacular ambience. It also offers cutting-edge conference and event facilities as well as a choice of three restaurants with uniquely relishable gastronomy.

Requirements

Alsik has chosen to join the international marketing collaboration Steigenberger, and because of this, there was set some international requirements and standards for the installation. So, when Bitten and Mads Clausen’s Foundation that is behind the construction of this hotel, was looking for a hospitality technology supplier, they found only Hoist Group lived up to the requirements of the chain and the owners.

Hoist Group, in close collaboration with the hotel, provided a solution tailored to the hotel’s desire for a high-speed and stable WiFi connection throughout the hotel. We installed our solution, Hoist Guest Internet, which builds on the latest in network technology and offers a range of features that meet the connectivity requirements of the hotel and expectations of their guests.

The hotel also wanted a flexible TV solution that could offer their guests an interactive experience, and Hoist Group’s Interactive TV solution was chosen. We also provided a selection of relevant TV channels, and Samsung TVs to all rooms along with  Hoist Cast-to-TV solution which allows guests to stream their own content to the TV in the room.

Another product that the hotel has benefited greatly from is the Hoist Dashboard which gives the hotel an overall overview of all the installed devices. It allows them to monitor the performance of all WiFi switches, TV and Access Points, and thus be able to troubleshoot swiftly, often proactively so the problems are solved even before a guest notices the issue.

Results

In addition to enjoying the superior standard facilities at Alsik, guests and staff are benefiting from a high-speed WiFi network that works reliably across the four floors of the property. The Hoist Interactive TV solution is delivering on all the entertainment expectations that one would have from a modern TV system in an up class hotel like Alsik.
