The expanding requirements of an experiential track-side hotel
Hotel Alma is an experiential hotel located in the heart of Seinäjoki, Finland next to the town’s railway station. The hotel has 79-rooms and consists of three buildings, each offering guests a different style of accommodation.
The Main Building is wooden with a Jugend style and has large rooms. Alma Tower is a converted water tower with brick walls and rooms with saunas, offering a unique experience for guests. The third is Alma New Tower, a brand-new 7-floor building with a historical twist. The hotel’s attention to detail creates a seamless experience for guests.
Hotel Alma’s restaurant serves local food made with quality ingredients and dishes made for everyday dining as well as special occasions. The hotel also has amazing sauna and conference spaces ideal for organizing events, from small meetings to large seminars.
Originally, 13 of the Alma hotel’s rooms didn’t have Wi-Fi or television systems. During the expansion and development of the hotel, they quickly realized this needed to change.
To improve efficiency and provide guests with an effortless stay, Hotel Alma realized that a fast Wi-Fi connection was necessary throughout the entire hotel. The management of their televisions also needed to be streamlined into one system.
Hotel Alma started the procurement process by researching and comparing different hotel tech providers online. After submitting a contact request through Hoist Group’s website, Hotel Alma was impressed by the quick response and personalized service. The hotel’s requirements were thoroughly mapped out and a tailor-made offer was prepared by Hoist Group, that could be flexibly modified if need be.

Hotel Alma decided to install Hoist Group’s modern solutions, Hoist Guest Internet and Hoist Interactive TV. It was imperative that the products and services were immediately available for deployment, as well as easy to expand to the new building later in the year.
In the beginning, the availability of televisions posed some challenges and as a result, the TV model had to be changed. Regardless of these challenges, installations went according to schedule. Through close cooperation the change was smooth, and Hotel Alma was happy with the result.
