Hoist Group Supports Koppampatti Village

Through the Hand in Hand organisation, which works to fight poverty by creating businesses and jobs, Hoist Group supports the village of Koppampatti in Pudukkottai District, Tamil Nadu State, India. The village is home to 1,000-2,000 people.

The project will continue for two years and is focused on laying the foundation for sustainable development in the village.

General Aims of the Project

Eradicate child labour.
Improve public schools.
Eliminate malnourishment among children.
Start around 100 micro enterprises run by female entrepreneurs by providing them with a basic education and entrepreneurial training in combination with external micro loans.
Establish a community centre that provides computer training for 100 people.
Waste management, including composting.

Hoist Group Ambassadors

During this two-year period we will send ambassadors from among our staff to visit the village on a few occasions to see if our support is achieving the improvements we hope for. We will also receive regular reports on the progress in Koppampatti from Hand in Hand.
